Frequently asked questions.
Buying and paying
Is the price on the screen the price I pay?+
Yes. Panels, hardware, fillers, chosen accessories and delivery are all included in the price that you see.
Do I pay a deposit, or the whole thing?+
The whole amount at checkout. Your payment is fully refundable until you confirm your layout.
Can I get a refund?+
Your order is refundable in full until you approve the final drawings. After we start production, the order cannot be refunded because the parts only fit your room.
What happens after I approve the drawings?+
Your panels go into production, cut to the dimensions on the approved drawings.
What happens after I place the order?+
We review the measurements and layout, then send final drawings for your approval. We do not release the closet for cutting until you approve them.
Something arrived damaged, or a part is wrong.+
Email us with your order number and a photograph. If we cut it wrong or it was damaged getting to you, we will remake the part and send it at our cost.
Do you take trade orders?+
Yes, and trade orders go through without sales tax. Choose “a client, trade” at checkout.
The closet
How custom is custom?+
Every panel is cut to the dimensions you enter. There are no fixed widths and no adjustable brackets taking up the slack.
What are the panels made of?+
We use leading architectural design panels from Egger, Tafisa, Arauco, and Formica. Their durable finished surfaces resist everyday scratches and moisture, and the matching edge banding gives every exposed edge a cabinet-quality finish. Choose from 96 colors, woodgrains, textiles, and stone looks.
What is behind the finished surface?+
All of our panels are made from MDF (medium-density fiberboard), an engineered wood made specifically for closets. MDF has a smooth, grain-free surface with no knots and does not warp, expand, or shrink with seasonal changes in humidity.
Can I order samples first?+
Yes. Order samples from the Finishes page to compare the color and texture in your own room before approving the final drawings.
Are the panels waterproof?+
No. The finished surfaces resist everyday moisture, but they are interior cabinetry. Wipe up standing water and do not install them where they will be exposed to weather or ongoing leaks.
Can I have doors?+
Yes, on anything 24″ deep or more. Below that a door cannot close over what is hanging inside, so the configurator does not offer them.
Can I change it after I have designed it?+
Yes, at any point before you approve the drawings. Your design is saved in the browser you drew it in, so you can leave and come back to it.
Measuring and fitting
What if I measure wrong?+
We confirm your measurements with you and send you final shop drawings for your approval before anything is cut. If a number looks wrong for the room you described, we ask.
My walls are not square. Does that matter?+
Very few walls are square. A built-in is deliberately made slightly narrower than the opening and a scribe strip closes each end on site, which is what the fit setting in Your space is choosing between.
Who puts it together?+
You can install it yourself or hire a handyman. The closet arrives flat-packed, cut to size, pre-drilled, and labeled by room, cabinet, and part.
Is it hard to put together?+
The assembly is straightforward if you are comfortable using a drill and level. Every order includes a custom installation guide based on the drawings you approved. Tall panels and large closets are easier with a second person.
What comes with my closet?+
You receive the cut and edge-banded panels, closet hardware, selected accessories, labeled hardware packs, and a custom installation guide that matches the cabinet and part numbers on the delivery.
What tools do I need?+
Have a drill or driver, screwdriver, level, stud finder, tape measure, pencil, step ladder, and safety glasses ready. A second person is recommended for standing and positioning tall or wide panels.
Do I need to cut anything?+
The cabinet parts arrive cut and drilled. For a wall-to-wall installation, the scribe strips may need to be trimmed on site so they follow walls that are not perfectly straight.
How is the closet secured?+
Floor-mounted cabinets are levelled and anchored to the wall. Wall-hung cabinets attach to a rail secured to the wall structure. Your custom guide shows the mounting method, height, and anchor locations for your design.
How long does installation take?+
It depends on the size and number of cabinets. Sort and check the delivery first, then follow the cabinet order in the guide. A simple reach-in may be completed in a few hours; larger walk-ins with doors could take half a day.
What if I need help during installation?+
Contact us with your order number and the cabinet or part label from your guide. That label lets us look at the same part and drawing you are working from.
How do I clean the panels?+
Use a soft damp cloth and a mild household cleaner, then wipe dry. Avoid abrasive pads, harsh chemicals, and leaving water on the surface.
Where do you deliver?+
Anywhere in the United States, and delivery is included in the price you see. We do not ship outside the US yet.
